The Youngest Businesswoman of the year ever fights for women in the technology sector!
Kristel Groenenboom named Businesswoman of the year 2022
On Monday evening, 7 November 2022, Kristel Groenenboom was named Businesswoman of the year 2022 by Prix Veuve Clicquot. She is the youngest person ever to win this award!
The award was granted in the presence of Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy Micky Adriaansens at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam. The Prix Veuve Clicquot, Bold Woman Award, was granted for the 40th time this year. It is considered the foremost entrepreneurial award for businesswomen in the Dutch business sector. The goal of the award is to promote female entrepreneurship, and 27 countries award it.
The jury of the Prix Veuve Clicquot is headed by former deputy primer minister and chairwoman of the VVD fraction in the Senate Annemarie Jorritsma and includes Ingrid Thijssen (president of the employers’ organisation VNO-NCW), Jacco Vonhof (president of MKB-Nederland), Corine Wortmann-Kool (CEO of ABP) and Marinka Nooteboom (Businesswoman of the Year 2021). The elements the jury considers include vision, financial responsibility, nature and size of the business and entrepreneurial and social impact.
The Businesswoman of the year award is often referred to as the Prix Veuve Clicquot, after Nicole-Barbe Clicquot-Ponsardin, who headed the famous champagne house from Reims from the age of 27. The award was created in 1972 to mark the 200th anniversary of the champagne house. The Netherlands has been awarding it since 1981. The Prix Veuve Clicquot is awarded in 27 countries, including Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, France, Japan and the USA. The Businesswomen of the Year will meet in Reims later this year.
